Don't spoil Avengers: Endgame, Iron Man warns
Iron Man has a warning for anyone even thinking about spilling the beans on Avengers: Endgame for those who haven’t seen it.
The much anticipated film, the fourth and final in the Avengers series and the culmination of 22 films over 11 years in the Marvel Infinity Saga universe, was watched by the hardcore fans at its midnight release in the UK.
Which means of course that the internet is awash with opinions and potential spoilers.
Step forward real-life Iron Man Robert Downey Jr, who tweeted a gif of Captain America and warned: “Cap knows best… Keep those spoilers to yourself…”
The film’s directors Anthony and Joe Russo and makers Marvel Studios have also been using the hashtag #DontSpoilTheEndgame on social media to urge fans to keep any comments spoiler-free.
The Russo brothers had already urged fans not to give anything away after footage was leaked online earlier this month, ahead of the official release.
Endgame looks set to be a huge success at the box office, with predictions that it could see an opening weekend of $1bn (£772m) in global ticket sales.
The three-hour epic has been hailed the “perfect goodbye” and both “tragic and uplifting” by critics, with mainly positive reviews and scores of 9.2 and 96% on IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes respectively the day after its release.
It follows on from last year’s Avengers: Infinity War, which ended with half the universe being wiped out by villain Thanos, played by Josh Brolin.
Fans will finally get to see the remaining Avengers – including Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, as well as Iron Man – taking one final stand together.
There is much speculation about who will survive. But we’re not messing with Iron Man, thank you very much. You’ll find no spoilers here.
