'Feel the need': Tom Cruise reveals new wings for Top Gun 2
Tom Cruise has revealed a brand new poster for the hotly anticipated sequel to Top Gun, where he sports a brand new set of wings.
The follow up to the 1986 film will be released in 2020, but Cruise and co-star Val Kilmer gave fans a sneak-peak into the new movie on social media.
Top Gun 2’s poster shows Cruise leaning up against his new plane wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, while looking up at two jets in the sky.
Alongside the poster on Instagram, Cruise added the caption “Feel the need. Trailer tomorrow.”
Kilmer also added a caption of his own on his account, saying: “It may be ‘ice’ cold outside, though maybe this will warm you up.
“Finally get to share this… poster.
“Even better, a new trailer… Tomorrow! #youcanbemywingman.”
In the original film, Cruise plays smooth-talking Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, which he will reprise along side Kilmer’s Tom “Iceman” Kazansky.
The new film, called Top Gun: Maverick, will also star Mad Men actor Jon Hamm as well as Lewis Pullman and Charles Parnell.

The plot will see Maverick as a flight instructor at the Top Gun school, where he will guide the son of Goose, from the original film, to follow in his father’s flight suit and become a pilot.
A teaser trailer was unveiled earlier in the year, which gave the impression it will feature all the action and drama of the 80s original – even bringing back Cruise’s famous motorbike.
Top Gun: Maverick is slated for released in June 2020.
