Jake Paul shared a somewhat mixed reaction to the breaking news surrounding Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler’s TUF announcement, as he took time to encourage boxing fans to “learn from MMA fans” while taking aim at the two athletes.
The YouTuber often finds time to react to big UFC news and isn’t afraid to share his honest opinion on the ongoing happenings in the MMA world. Despite his clear love for boxing, the star recently made headlines after signing a deal with the PFL, which reportedly includes him competing in the sport.
In a social media post, Jake Paul responded to the selection of Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler as coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter by pointing out their less-than-impressive recent form inside the Octagon.
“Boxing fans should learn from MMA fans to support the fighters. McGregor 1-3 in his last four fights. Choked, knocked out. His opponent is 1-3 in his last four fights, knocked out and choked. But that’s a massive fight , and the fans don’t care at all.”
The ‘Problem Child’ has managed to build his way to an undefeated 6-0 record since dedicating his life to boxing, and his latest win against Anderson Silva is starting to catch the attention of fans.
While it could be a tough night at the office, Jake Paul is ready for the next time he faces his first professional boxer as he hopes the “third time’s the charm” in his scheduled clash against Tommy Fury, a fight that fell through two times before.
When will Conor McGregor fight Michael Chandler?
With the announcement of The Ultimate Fighter season 31, Dana White insisted that Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler will share the Octagon later this year, but no official date has been set.
Since the upcoming season runs from late May to mid-August, one can expect a match between the two entertaining brawlers to take place shortly after the final episode of TUF airs.
Chandler is most likely to welcome McGregor back into the Octagon from September onwards, with the two almost certain to headline the event despite the title not being on the line.
If all goes according to plan, viewers could witness an all-time classic when two knockouts step into the cage, and the war has all the ingredients for a potential fight of the year spectacle.
