
Only Nigeria in Africa is among the world’s top 15 crypto hubs
- Recap has ranked London with the most crypto-readiness to attract companies and startups.

- There is only one African city in the top 20, Lagos.
The world’s most private crypto tracker, Recap, recently published a list of the top 50 cities with the infrastructure for mass adoption of cryptocurrencies. Based on eight data points, London has the highest crypto-readiness to attract companies and startups.
The eight indicators include crypto-specific events, people working in crypto-related jobs, crypto companies, the number of crypto ATMs, and crypto ownership in each country. While London beat well-known boroughs such as Dubai, Singapore and New York, only one African city, Lagos, appeared in the top 20.
Lagos, a city in Nigeria, Africa’s most populous country, has 779 people working in crypto-related jobs and 112 crypto companies. On the other hand, London has 2,173 people working in crypto jobs, which represents the highest number of people working in the Web3 industry compared to any other place.
