Ozzy Osbourne has announced rescheduled gig dates after cancelling shows due to illness and injury.

The heavy metal star had initially cancelled some tour dates in February after being diagnosed with pneumonia.

During his recovery he fell at home in Los Angeles, aggravating injuries sustained in a quad bike crash in 2003, and was forced to cancel his remaining shows.

But it appears he is now on the mend, announcing six weeks of rescheduled shows in the UK and Europe, starting in January 2020.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Europe for these shows,” the veteran rocker said in a statement.

“Thank you to all the fans for sticking with me and waiting for the new dates to be announced.

“I can’t wait to see you all next year.”

The star posted this throwback picture on social media over the weekend.

Osbourne, known as the Prince of Darkness, is the famous frontman of Black Sabbath, formed in 1969 with bass player Geezer Butler, drummer Bill Ward and guitarist Tony Iommi.

Born in Birmingham, he has released 11 solo albums and sold more than 100 million records across the world.

He also starred in reality TV show The Osbournes, from 2002.

The rescheduled shows are part of his No More Tours 2 tour.

Starting in Nottingham on 31 January 2020, the tour will also include gigs in Manchester, Glasgow, London and Birmingham before shows across Europe, finishing in Zurich on 16 March 2020.

Tickets go on sale on Friday at 9am.
