Spain has introduced that it has canceled a cope with Israeli firm Rafael Superior Protection Programs to obtain Litening 5 focusing on and navigation pods for 46 Eurofighter Hurricane fighter jets. The deal signed in March 2024 was value €207 million. Up to now, Rafael has supplied 2,000 such pods to twenty-eight armies worldwide, and solely final month Germany’s Bundestag authorised the procurement of Litening 5 pods for the Eurofighter Hurricane.

That is the third arms deal that the Spanish authorities of Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has canceled in protest on the persevering with conflict in Gaza. Ten days in the past, Spain canceled the procurement of the PULS artillery system in a deal value €700 million with Elbit Programs (TASE: ELST; Nasdaq: ELST), of which Elbit would have acquired €150 million. Elbit Programs CEO Bezhalel Machlis, nonetheless, insists that his firm has acquired no type notification of the deal.
In June, Spain’s Ministry of Protection suspended a €285 million deal to obtain Spike missiles from Rafael.
