The former Women’s Champion makes her first appearance two weeks before WWE WrestleMania 39

The former SmackDown Women’s Tournament Champion appeared ahead of WWE WrestleMania 39.

Carmella returned to the company at the end of January after being away for some time for personal reasons. The Princess of Staten Island returned as a heel and was seemingly set to partner with Chelsea Green on WWE RAW.

However, Carmella has been off television for the past few weeks, and Chelsea will now team with Sonya Deville in a Women’s Showcase Fatal 4-Way Tag Team match at WrestleMania. Green and Deville qualified for the match by defeating Candice LeRae and Mia Yi on Monday’s edition of Red Brand.

Ahead of WrestleMania 39, the company unveiled an incredible set for this year’s premier live event. Carmella returned to WWE programming alongside her husband, RAW announcer Corey Graves, to open the massive stage ahead of The Show of Shows this weekend.

Former WWE writer worried Carmella will be considered injury prone before WrestleMania

Former WWE writer Vince Russo recently expressed concern for Carmella following her most recent absence from television.

Carmella and Chelsea Green were scheduled to face RAW Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and Asuka on a recent edition of the red brand. However, the Princess of Staten Island was unavailable. Green teamed with Piper Niven for the match, but has since been partnered with Sonya Deville, with the two heading to WrestleMania.

Speaking on Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW show, Vince revealed that he was concerned that the company might begin to view Carmella as a risk.

“I hope she doesn’t get hurt again. That’s what I thought. She’s been through a lot of injuries. I hope she doesn’t get hurt again because then she’ll be labeled as injury prone. I hope she doesn’t get hurt again,” Russo said. [From 53:22 – 53:36]

As of now, Carmella is not booked for a match at The Show of Shows in Los Angeles. It will be interesting to see if she is included in the top live event this weekend.
