What did Devin Booker say about Kevin Durant joining the Phoenix Suns?

Devin Booker shared his excitement about Kevin Durant joining the Phoenix Suns after the team acquired him at Thursday’s trade deadline. The two All-Stars had the opportunity to play alongside each other during the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and have been linked to playing together for a long time since then.

When asked what he thought of Durant’s acquisition, Booker said:

“I can’t wait to be out there with him … It’s one of those pick-your-poison situations. All of our games complement each other, everyone on this team. I’m sure there will be hiccups that we have to work out early, but when it comes other than that, I like what we got.”

Becoming a double champion was not easy. The Suns had to give up their favorite players, Mikal Bridges and Cameron Johnson, as well as four future first-round picks.

“It’s tough, man. I’d say the definition of bittersweet,” Booker said. “Those two guys were a big part of building this organization to what it is today. I can really say I love them, and they’re my brothers that we’ll be in touch with forever. I envisioned playing for them my whole career with. It’s tough .”

Durant is still recovering from an MCL sprain, which has sidelined him since December 12, 2022. Good thing for the Suns, KD could be getting closer to a return as it has already been reported that he can play one-on-one games with some assistant coaches.

The 6-foot-10 forward is averaging 29.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.3 assists while shooting 55.9%, including 37.6% from behind the arc. His numbers this season could help the Suns win a title this season.
