Jake had a great start in Round 1, especially after finding the first double of the day. He gave 13 correct and four incorrect answers. Freshman Sam Meehan gave nine correct and four incorrect answers to finish in second place. Sarah Howard struggled with the signaling device and was only able to answer two questions correctly. All three players won Jake $6,200, Sam $2,200 and Sarah $800 in the first round.

In the second round, the categories were “Exploration, Saints and their cities, Words that should rhyme, Mushroom stew, Scary movies, Traveling with books.”

Returning champion Jake got pretty lucky in today’s game as he found another Daily Double worth $5,000. He also gave the maximum number of correct answers and earned $26,400 before the final round. Sam, on the other hand, did his best to improve his results. Although he took second place again, he won a good amount – $13,400. Sarah’s struggle with the signaling device continued and she could only give three correct answers. The Durham native finished in third place for $2,000.

The Final Jeopardy round did not end well for either player. All three gave an incorrect answer to the last question. While Jake was still leading the game, Sam finished in third place after losing all of his money on the last bet and going home empty-handed. Sarah also lost her stake, but was left with a dollar that placed her in second place.

So Jake DeArruda won Danger! today.
